Biography
Dr. Angelos Vilos MD FRCSC is an Associate Professor and Program Director for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, (GREI) within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
Dr. Vilos earned his Honours degree in Biochemistry from Western University in 2002, followed by his MD from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2007. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in 2012. Further studies included, a postgraduate fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Western University in 2014, after which he joined the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Vilos divides his time as a Fertility specialist at Omega Fertility Centre and and is the Medical Director of the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit (EPAU), at Victoria Hospital, LHSC.
Publication & Involvement
Dr. Vilos has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts and has delivered more than 30 presentations at national and international conferences. He has received numerous awards and grants for his research projects. Dr. Vilos is globlally dedicated to the advancement of women's health and reproduction, he serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology (JMIG) as well as on multiple advisory boards.
His clinical and research interests include Assisted Reproductive Technologies, recurrent miscarriage, enhancing minimally invasive surgical techniques for uterine fibroids, septum and adhesions, tubal factor infertility, abnormal uterine bleeding, and endometriosis.
